Clemson University's Cessna Citation CJ3, N934CT, departed Clemson-Oconee at 6:55 a.m. and turned straight for East Lansing, Michigan — home field of Michigan State, where Kevin Guskiewicz has been president since March 2024 and where Clemson's Board of Trustees unanimously hired him away on May 27 to be the school's 16th president.
After roughly 30 minutes on the ground at Lansing, the jet pushed back south and stopped at Raleigh-Durham, the airport that serves Chapel Hill, where Guskiewicz was UNC chancellor before MSU. From RDU it made a short hop to Columbia Owens Downtown, sat for more than two hours at the South Carolina state capital, and finally landed at Clemson-Oconee at 2:07 p.m. — 53 minutes before the Summer Quarterly Board of Trustees meeting kicked off at 3:00 p.m. with a Snow Institute seminar and a board dinner. The full board meets Thursday afternoon.
The jet is registered to Clemson University and the route lines up with a pickup of the president-elect. The passenger list is not public.
