Lane Kiffin made a Friday trip to Knoxville on January 9 as LSU pursued transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt. Sports Illustrated and Tiger Rag reported that Kiffin traveled to meet Leavitt and his camp; Kiffin then posted a photo from McGhee Tyson Airport’s “Welcome to Knoxville” sign.
One aircraft left Baton Rouge at 2:00 p.m. CST, landed at McGhee Tyson at 4:20 p.m. EST and departed 97 minutes later. It was back at Baton Rouge by 6:38 p.m. CST. Kiffin posted his airport photo 68 minutes after the arrival, and posted his private-cabin photo 86 minutes after the return.
