The Haslam-to-Tennessee transfer behind N865TN
N865TN is now a University of Tennessee aircraft, but its older McKinney-heavy history belongs to the prior owner: the Haslam Family Foundation.
N865TN is the current mark for Cessna 560XL serial 560-6038, Mode-S ABE320. The current FAA registry names the University of Tennessee as registered owner and shows a July 10, 2025 certificate issue date. That is the point where this airframe becomes a University of Tennessee aircraft for JetSweep's public program map.
The FAA CARES aircraft bill of sale fills in the prior-owner chain. The same airframe was still N560TE in the sale document, which transfers full legal and beneficial title on June 17, 2025 from The Haslam Family Foundation, Inc. to The University of Tennessee. The seller block is signed by James A. Haslam II as president.
That makes the pre-transfer route history a Haslam Foundation/family context question, not UT-owned travel. Public nonprofit data lists the Haslam Family Foundation as a Knoxville private foundation and lists James A. Haslam II as director/president. University of Tennessee sources separately document the Haslam family's long-running support for UT, including athletics and major university gifts. The clean public read is therefore: post-July 2025 N865TN flights are UT-owned aircraft activity; earlier N560TE/N865TN airframe history should be treated as historical Haslam foundation / Tennessee booster-context activity unless a separate document ties a specific trip to UT.
Current FAA registration record: University of Tennessee, Cessna 560XL, serial 560-6038, Mode-S ABE320, certificate issued July 10, 2025.

What this does not claim. Current records support University of Tennessee ownership after the 2025 transfer and Haslam family donor/booster context before transfer. They do not prove passengers, recruiting purpose, or that pre-transfer flights were UT travel.
