Tennessee's university-owned jet reached Westover, the Springfield-area airport, at 4:19 p.m. Saturday. The Basketball Hall of Fame ceremony began at 7 p.m. and honored four Tennessee women's basketball figures: Chamique Holdsclaw and Candace Parker as individual inductees, and Nikki McCray-Penson and Carla McGhee with the 1996 U.S. Olympic team.

N865UT left Westover at 10:26 p.m., after the scheduled ceremony, and returned to Knoxville just after midnight. The exact destination, timing and paired route make Hall of Fame event travel the strongest explanation for the outing.
